Now this is a novel idea I don't think I've ever seen anyone express: the whole thing that happened with Bridget in Strive was obvious pandering not because of the political reasons, but because Bridget isn't even a representation of being transgender or having dysphoria.
>born to parents who MADE him be a girl and encouraged it
>was raised as a girl
>acted like a girl openly and without any kind of discouragement
>is repeatedly mistaken for a girl
>had to change nothing when he decided he was a girl
There's not even an inkling of any of the serious mental and emotional trauma involved with having dysphoria, mostly because Bridget was basically made as a gag character (make a cute girl, but it's actually a boy) and was retrofitted into a political statement. All the people who said they felt "represented" by Bridget are so clearly trenders who don't actually know the pain involved with dysphoria and think it really is as simple as saying you're actually a girl. Bridget is more like a youngshit having an identity crisis. I like Bridget, I main him in +R and all, but the closest thing I have to feeling "represented" by him is wishing I looked like him instead of Potemkin.
